I might not have been in the breeding milieu as long as other
Belgian breeders out there but I have always been mentored through each of the
breedings that I have undertaken. ANYONE who has been through a breeding, no matter
how long they have been at it, KNOWS that, even if they have all the odds in their
favour, they can still encounter situations that can occur that are out of their
control. Anyone who believes that they produce only 'good' and 'healthy' dogs in
all the litters they have produced, or will be producing, are not only lying to
themselves, but to others as well. Nature can be unpredictable at the best of time.
Accepting the fact that NO one is a God where breeding is concerned, I believe,
is the FIRST step in acknowledging that yes bad things can happen to anyone.
Unfortunately, dogs do NOT LIVE FOREVER, and yes they do get
old, and yes they do get sick, and yes they can develop certain problems throughout
their lifetime that NO ONE could have foreseen right from the start! Vets are not
gods either and they do their BEST to find what is wrong to be able to cure a
condition or disease, but even they will eventually be stumped and have their
hands tied as to how to proceed! I am just tired of hypocrites and people who
think they are so PERFECT that their darn excrement has no odour; they also
think that THEY can save any dog even though they are not even a vet! It is about
time that some of you take off your blinders!!!!
