Kema
May 2003 - June 2012
Kema was a beautiful registered Malinois that found herself dropped off at a Sudbury
shelter by her owner at the tender age of five. She was not faring well at all at this
shelter; when this was brought to my attention I, of course, had no other choice but
to take in that precious soul. After several months of research, I managed to find
the Canadian breeders of Kema. I was thrilled to let them know that I had their dog
and that I could take her to them. Unfortunately, the breeders washed their hands of
her; they absolutely did not care about her, nor were they interested in taking her
back! I was appalled by this! So, the search began for a forever home.
Kema had no stop button; she was constantly on the go. She needed
very little rest and would be in constant movement. Her biggest fault was her hatred
for cats. That hatred was what kept her from being adopted. Everyone that wanted to
take her in had a cat. Therefore, Kema stayed here because it would not have been
fair to her and it certainly would have not been fair to a cat!
Kema stayed true to herself and to the breed. She died doing what
she loved best: RUNNING! Now there are no more limitations for her where she is. She
can run free without a care in the world.
Kema, I hope that in the four years you spent with me you were
able to feel at home! We will definitely see each other again one of these days, but
until then rest assured that you have earned a very special place in my heart!
